what I find missing in their new albums is that ethnic/tribal rhythms that the first ones have,
Conquer is just like any other metal album, good but it's not the same any more

Exactly....for me is Prophecy their best; album is full of tribal vibes; after Prophecy Max just want to go back to Beneath The Remains, Dark Ages and Conquer are faster, heavier and more "simple"...Sad
I guess we must wait till May the 4th...according to Max this one will be something in between 3 and Conquer, as I remember...

Love Kingdom, and Rise of the Fallen sounds good musically, but that shitty Dillinger vocalist really brings it down. Hope the album turns out better than Conquer.

First three albums are stupidly amazing. Starts to fizzle out a little after that. Still some solid stuff though.

yeah, what happened to soulfly? did they get bored of doing all the tribal/reggae/world stuff??? and mixing of different genres??? Thats what used to be so cool about them. Everything sounds the same since Dark Ages, with very few exceptions. i mean, i love metal stuff but it gets boring after a while if they dont mix it up a little bit.

Guys, I fully understand your "pain"; this "pain" is also the same with me.....it"s good metal album BUT.....
So far I have listened to the album like four times and left me quite indifferent, as I already mentioned, the album doesn"t have unique tribal groove, in which they were "famous" to the Dark Ages album....
.....frankly I'm a little sad abouth this one Sad

I do not know if you know, Soulfly part ways with Bobby Burns, a temporary replacement is Johnny Chow, bassist in the CC ... in fact now we have two bands with the same members hehe:)
I am still hopeing on Marcello Dias....
